WIDAR, the 3D scanning and editing app developed and operated by WOGO Inc., was featured in “Bring your world into augmented reality” (Session 10128), an official session at Apple’s annual developer conference WWDC 2022. Story

As the computing power and camera performance of smartphones have improved dramatically in recent years, the barrier to generating 3D models has fallen sharply. Even so, delivering scanning accuracy, ease of editing and a continuous workflow entirely on mobile remained a hard problem.
WOGO began researching and developing its scanning algorithms in 2021 and released WIDAR v1.0 in 2022. The app drew attention immediately through spontaneous social media posts by overseas users, and has since grown into a community of more than one million users.

WOGO’s mission is to democratize 3D creation, and we develop our software, algorithms and cloud infrastructure end to end. More than 90% of our members are engineers, and our team brings together specialists from Japan and abroad, many of them graduates of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo.
