WOGO Publishes the Scope of "Hacadly Automated 2D Drafting": Standard Features Target About 70% of Drafting Work for Sheet Metal and Machined Parts

On October 6, 2026, WOGO Inc. published the planned scope of “Hacadly Automated 2D Drafting”, currently in early-access verification, ahead of its full release in April 2027. Hacadly Automated 2D Drafting automates the creation of the 2D part drawings needed for manufacturing from 3D CAD data.
Standard features target about 70% of drafting work for sheet metal and machined parts
The standard features planned for April 2027 focus on sheet-metal and machined parts, and automate the following without AI, with no duplicated or missing dimensions:
- Generating and placing projection views
- Inserting the required dimensions for holes, threads, counterbores, radii and chamfers, plate thickness and sheet-metal bends
- Applying JIS-based drafting rules, and placing the parts list and balloons
- Output in the connected CAD’s native drawing format
Based on WOGO’s research and interviews, these standard features cover an area equivalent to roughly 70% of the work involved in producing drawings.
Areas that need design intent are developed as AI extensions
Areas that cannot be determined from geometry alone and depend on design intent or company-specific rules – geometric tolerances, datums, inspection dimensions and assembly drawings, for example – are being developed as AI-powered extensions. Hacadly Automated 2D Drafting breaks mechanical drafting down into its component decisions: what can be standardized is automated reliably without AI, and what requires design intent is extended with AI. The aim is automated drafting that works in real design departments.
Why publish the scope of drafting automation
Advances in generative AI and related technologies are rapidly making it realistic to automate mechanical design tasks that people have always done. What has not yet been clearly mapped out is how far that automation can go. WOGO has therefore broken 2D drafting down into its constituent items and published which are handled by standard features and which are extended with AI in light of design intent and company-specific rules, as a reference point for anyone considering DX and automation in mechanical design.
