The integrated vessel monitoring system developed jointly by Daio Kaiun Co., Ltd., Misuka Kaiun Co., Ltd. and WOGO was featured in The Japan Maritime Daily on June 1, 2026.
The system combines several cameras mounted ahead of the bridge with edge AI to deliver continuous monitoring, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A three-lens 4K wide camera covers 180 degrees ahead while an optical zoom camera detects distant targets early, giving the crew both a broad picture at close range and precise detection far off, at the same time.
The system has been installed on the Daio Kaiun coastal RORO vessel Haru Maru No. 3, where field trials are now under way. The aim is to prevent collisions before they happen, improve working conditions for crews, and build a mechanism for passing on the expertise of experienced navigators through AI.
